The PG Department of Physics is an energetic
department with four full-time faculty members. With small size, we have the
distinct advantage of a unified vision of the educational experience of our
students – a shared concern for deep learning by our students.
Our curriculum spans Classical
Mechanics, Condensed Matter Physics, Mathematical Physics, Nuclear and Particle
Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Material Science, and Research methodology. The
Projects and field visits have allowed our students to venture into emergent
interdisciplinary areas like nanotechnology, Geophysics, and Crystal Growth.
Available Instruments in our laboratory are:
Ø PID-controlled Slow Cooling Unit
Ø Guoy’s Balance
Ø Ultrasonic interferometer
Ø Four Probe Kit
Ø Digital Balance (0.01g)
Ø Dielectric constant using LCR meter
Ø Two Probe Kit
Ø Magnetic stirrer
Ø Ultrasonic diffraction kit
Ø 16-bit Microprocessor
Ø 8-bit Microprocessor
